Hey, I'm Jenifer
Photographer. architect by training. creative director at heart.
My name is Jenifer Mendez, and I've spent the last several years building a body of work that earns its place on the pages brands care about.
I grew up in Cuba, spent my formative years in Miami, and relocated to Dallas in 2023. Before photography, I studied architecture. That training, the way it taught me to read space, light, and composition as a structural language, is the reason my work looks the way it does. I don't just see a frame. I see the geometry of the brand narrative you need to tell.
I'm self-taught in this industry. I learned by doing, by producing, by pushing every project further than the brief. That process shaped me into something more than a photographer. It made me a creative collaborator who knows how to deliver.
In 2026, I made the full pivot into fashion, beauty, and editorial: the work I was always building toward. I work with fashion designers launching collections, beauty brands producing campaigns, creative agencies building editorial content, and casting directors who need test shoots that actually serve the talent.
I bring my own point of view to every project, and I know how to subordinate it when your brief calls for it. That's the balance great commercial photographers understand. Let's produce something worth publishing together.
When I got pregnant with Luna, I picked up a camera for the first time with real intention. I wanted to remember every detail, the light in the room, the way she held her hands, the small moments that pass before you can name them. That instinct, the need to compose a moment instead of just witness it, became the foundation of everything that came next.
My background is in architecture, and that training shaped how I saw every frame. I started photographing motherhood, families, and the people closest to me, and the work grew. Miami became my proving ground. I learned the craft by doing, by producing, by pushing every shoot further than the brief. Years of editorial and lifestyle work refined my eye, and in 2023 I made the deliberate move to Dallas to build into the commercial market here.
In 2026, I committed fully to fashion, beauty, and editorial photography for designers, brands, and creative agencies. Motherhood taught me how to read a moment. Architecture taught me how to build one. Commercial work is where both finally meet. Today I produce campaigns, lookbooks, and editorial spreads for the brands and creative teams who need imagery that's built, not just captured.

In 2026, I decided to step into the world of beauty and fashion photography. It’s been a new challenge: relearning, growing, and pushing myself to think outside the box, but I’m incredibly excited for this next chapter.

My journey continued as I began photographing expecting moms and expanding the experience I offered my clients, creating more meaningful and personalized sessions.

I moved from Miami to Dallas and had to rebuild my photography business from the ground up. With no clients, a fresh start, and the responsibility of providing for my two daughters as a single mom, it became the most challenging and defining chapter of my journey.
My photography journey began after the birth of my daughter, Luna. I started in my home garage photographing children and newborns.

I produce beauty, fashion, and editorial work for designers, brands, and creative agencies across Dallas–Fort Worth and beyond. My aesthetic is modern and precise: clean composition, architectural light, and imagery that holds its own in the context it's built for, whether that's a brand campaign, a lookbook, an e-commerce gallery, or a magazine spread.
My clients have described working with me as seamless, exacting, and (their words) exactly what they didn't know they needed. I believe that comes from the same thing every time: I show up to every production fully prepared, fully committed, and ready to deliver at the level your brand deserves.

My architecture training taught me to read space, structure, and light before I ever picked up a camera. I bring that same compositional intelligence to every production. That's why my images feel considered, not accidental. When you bring me a brief, I'm not just thinking about the subject in the frame. I'm thinking about how every element of that frame serves your brand.

Whether you come to me with a fully developed brief or a loose concept, my job is to listen first, then build.
